It was eight years ago today
But it seems like just yesterday
The day the world shook
And it all came to a stop

They rocked our world
And now we’re shocking theirs
Showing them that we still have
What they tried to steal

Soldiers are still fighting
To defend our freedoms
Yet we’re so quick to take for granted
What they’re sacrificing

We will never, ever forget
What happened that September morning
And we will always remember
All that we have and everything we stand for

Let’s take a moment out of our busy day today to remember that our country is still at war. At least take a few seconds and visit: http://www.ourmilitary.mil/Message.aspx?SectionID=5 to send a message to the troops—even a quick “Thank you” would do! They are defending our country and are honorably forced to be away from their family, friends, and everyday things (like showers, the internet, their cell phone, the radio, etc.), yet we like to complain about and sweat the small stuff. Hold your loved ones closer, remind them how much you love them, and pray for our troops’ safe return so they can do the same. Thank y’all!

Also, Happy Birthday Jamie!
